Living Levee Trail and Flood Walls

When: Sunday, May 6, 1-3 pm

Where: Begin and end at City Parking Lot, next to Mill Race Park/LA Frank’s stairway.

Enjoy the riverscapes of Galt and learn about how in the age of bellbottoms the City flooded, a massive public works project followed to prevent future floods and protect the downtown.

Meet at City Parking Lot, next to Mill Race Park/LA Franks stairway. Walking route will be on east side of river to Main Street bridge, through Sculpture Garden and riverside trails on west side of river, then cross the Concession Street bridge and head back to the parking lot starting point. Walk is largely accessible along sidewalks and riverfront asphalt trails in downtown Galt.
